Jerry Wayne Carr, age 80 of the Shop Springs community, passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 7, 2024 at his residence.
Born Feb. 27, 1943 in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Daniel B. Carr and Frances Gregory Carr.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Edd Carr and sisters, Marie Boyanton, Dorothy Newbern, Rebecca Jones and Betty Evelyn Rackley.
Jerry was a veteran of the US Air Force, retired 22 year employee of Nissan and a member of Maple Hill Church of Christ.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia Hudson Carr; daughter, Melissa (Jackie) Hopkins; son, Thomas Jordan “T.J.” Carr; grandchildren, Tim (Alexa) Kamer, Zack (Kelcie) Kamer, Molly (Justin) Hensley, Maggie (Matthew) Watkins; great-grandchildren, Zackary, Jackson and Gracie Kamer, Colton Watkins, Samuel Hensley; and his sister, Farris Jean Quinn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Noles and Bro. Mike Wamble officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to services on Wednesday. Pallbearers, Tim and Zack Kamer, Justin Hensley, Matthew Watkins, Brandon Gray, Adam Carr.
