Family Care Center, one of the nation’s premier mental health providers, opened a new outpatient clinic in Mt. Juliet on May 14, which will transform mental wellness by making services more accessible to people living and working in Wilson County.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the opening of the Mt. Juliet clinic answers a call for help in the area of child and adolescent mental health. According to this report from the Sycamore Institute, a growing share of Tennessee adolescents report poor mental health, symptoms of depression and attempting suicide. While these rates align with national rates, kids needing services in Tennessee are less likely to receive them than many around the country.

The Mt. Juliet location will uniquely offer an integrated care model for outpatient services including talk therapy, medication management and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) —an FDA-approved, non-invasive, non-medication-based approach to treating conditions such as depression and OCD. TMS is groundbreaking, effective, and can be hard to find at outpatient clinics.

David Wood, LPC-S, who serves as the Nashville area’s regional director, is available to discuss the new clinic and any other mental health stories that you might be planning for May. Can I connect you for an interview?

The clinic is located at 820 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Suite 220, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
