OBITUARY: Orien Dickerson


Orien Dickerson of Lebanon, formerly of Nashville and Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, May 14th, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Carney and Elsie Forte Dickerson; siblings, John C. Dickerson Jr., Katherine Burris, Jean Parrish, Louise Luck, and James D. Dickerson.

He is survived by wife of 66 years, Jewell Lannom Dickerson; daughters, Jennifer (Dwight) Haddock and Sarah (Jimmy) Woods; grandchildren, Evie (Harry) Cheng, Turner (Maddie) Haddock, Amelia Haddock, Mary Keith Haddock, Baylor Woods, Lily Beth Woods and Claire Woods; great-grandchildren, Elsie and Harrison Cheng; sisters, Dorothy Walker and Marilyn Head; sister-in-law, Patsy (Claude) Maynard; brother-in-law, Phillip (Roxy) Lannom and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Orien and his wife were members at Smyrna Church of Christ for 47 years and most recently attended College Hills Church of Christ. He was a CPA and financial consultant. Mr. Dickerson was a devoted family man, golf enthusiast, avid newspaper reader and compassionate soul. He found joy in spending time with his loved ones, playing golf, and exploring the world. His faith was unwavering, and he lived by the values of grace and kindness, never passing judgment on others. He will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Partlow Funeral Chapel (602 South Cumberland St. Lebanon, TN). Johnny Markham to officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Compassionate Hands.
