OBITUARY: Greg Barlow

Gregory “Greg” Barlow passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ollin Barlow and Eston Arnold Barlow; and his brothers, Ervin Freeman and Richard Sands.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife of more than 46 years, Wanda Barlow; his daughters, Tara (Ryan) Aldridge and Cayla (Ryan) Stroud; his cherished grandchildren, Caden Stroud, Silas Aldridge, Lyla Stroud, and Sloane Aldridge; his siblings, Candy (Mark) Tryson, Lois (Rick) Riding, Kelly (Kelly) Freeman, Pam Mills, and Sue Durrance; along with many other loving family members and dear friends.

Greg’s greatest joy was his family. He faithfully attended every sporting event for his grandchildren, always cheering them on with love and encouragement. He loved spending time at the beach, loved Jesus, and was devoted to his Bible study group. He was known for wearing unique hats and beach style shirts. He was also known affectionately as “The Encourager,” Greg had a gift for uplifting others with his kind words, unwavering faith, and generous spirit. His legacy of love, joy, and encouragement will be treasured by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.

In honor of Greg’s joyful spirit, the family kindly asks those attending to wear bright, cheerful colors or Greg’s favorite color, blue.
