Marie Bruce was born Dec. 23, 1936 in Winter Haven, Florida, daughter of the late Richard Thomas Bowes and Sarah Mary Connelly Bowes and departed this life on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026 at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Devon Bruce on April 18, 2014.
Marie was a bookkeeper, she loved gardening and was skilled in quilting. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends and donating many of them for special events. She also loved her cats, Maggie and Pickles.
Marie is survived by her children, Dianne Gaddes of Alexandria, TN, Michael (Gina) Bruce and Donna (David) Prince both of Lakeland, FL and David (Valerie) Bruce of Woodland Park, CO. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A time of remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the Lakeland Harbor Club House, 4747 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland, FL 33805.
After services family and friends are invited to join us for fellowship and refreshments.
