Steven Ross Yates, age 34, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away Thursday, February 15th.

Steven was born in Nashville, TN, on August 21, 1989, to parents Royce & Teresa Yates of Mt. Juliet, TN.

He resided in Hermitage, TN, with his fiancee, Robyn Jones Shank. He was a Baltimore Ravens fan, loved playing poker with his friends, and loved his family. He was employed at Paddywax LLC, Antioch, TN.

He is survived by parents, Royce and Teresa Yates of Mt. Juliet, TN; brother, Royce Yates Jr. (Nellie Yates) of Donelson, TN; sister Tiffiany Yates Holland (Andy Spencer) of Goodlettsville, TN, nieces, Angelee Barrow (Mark Barrow) of Gallatin, TN, Roycee Yates of Donelson, TN Jordyn White (Gabriel White) of Knoxville, TN, Bethany Holland of Mississippi, nephews, Royce Yates the third of Donelson, TN, Rickie Lassiter of Greenbrier, TN, great nieces, Winter Scott, Athena Barrow, Aliyah Rooks, great-nephews, David Barrow, Zayden Yates, Brennan Lassiter, aunts, Tracey Tucker of Nashville, TN, Stephanie Tucker (Abdelhadi Aldabet) of Murfreesboro, TN, Pam Drews of Oregon, Denise Tucker of Florida, Sandra Yates Duke of Nashville, TN, uncle, Anthony Tucker (Shirley Tucker) of Clarksville, TN. many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Vivian Marie Tucker, Joe S. Tucker, Nellie Jean Yates Gunter and Doyle Royce Yates, aunt, Kimberly Dawn Tucker, and uncle, Doyle Donnell Yates (Valerie Yates).

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 10 A.M until to 4 P.M with a service following at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, your presence would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Oh Steven my baby brother, I picked up your ashes today and brought you home in a mini urn like Daddy’s. He put you in your room on the chester drawers. I put you on the prettiest shelf I could find here at home. I miss you so very much already. Rest in peace my dear brother until we meet again. I love you Steven 💜
