Edward E. Maynard, 77, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on August 8, 2026, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Born on February 4, 1949, in Logan, West Virginia, Edward lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and a steadfast commitment to sharing the love of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, pastor, and friend whose influence reached far beyond his family and the communities he served.

Edward retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service. For many years, he faithfully served as Youth Director at Peoples Free Will Baptist Church in Chicago. Even after becoming a Senior Pastor, he never lost his passion for ministering to young people.

Throughout his ministry, Edward pastored churches in Illinois, Indiana, Florida, and Tennessee. He was respected and loved by many whom he pastored. His greatest goal in life was to lead as many people to Christ as he possibly could.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Glenna Maynard; his parents, Manley and Elsie Maynard; his brothers, Calvin Maynard, Jake Maynard, Owen Maynard, Dennis “Buddy” Maynard, Ezra Maynard, and Manley “June” Maynard; and his sisters, Sara Lucas, Beatrice “E.M.” Marshall, and Anna Lou Manns.

He is survived by his son, Keith (Alice) Maynard; his grandchildren, Tyler (Tiffany) Maynard, Jonathan Maynard, Shalyn (Shawn) Taylor, and Dalton Maynard; and his great-grandchildren, William, Gracie, Hazel, Ricky, Luna, and Prudence. Plus 2 bonus Great Grand Children Brian and Dayla.

He is also survived by his brothers, Billy Joe (Freddie) Maynard, Dave (Pat) Maynard, and Jimmy Maynard; his sister, Shirley Manns; Sister-in-Law Lenora Maynard and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Edward’s life was a testament to faith in Christ, love for family, and dedicated service to others. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
