Mr. Alfred Armstrong Adams VI, age 69 of Lebanon passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

A seventh generation Tennessean, Fred was a gentleman farmer who lived on the family’s Century Farm in the Laguardo community of Wilson County. He was the son of the late Alfred A. Adams V and JoAnne Cook Adams.

He attended Castle Heights Military Academy, Lebanon High School, and Martin Methodist College. A connoisseur of fine botanicals, Fred loved the outdoors, hiking, and biking, spending time at the lake with family and friends and was a big fan of the University of Tennessee football.

He is survived by his loving wife Jan Adams; his chosen daughter, Carly Davis; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Kathy Adams; nephew, Will Adams; niece, Amy Harpalani and their children.

A private family graveside service for Mr. Alfred Armstrong Adams VI will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Steve Wheeley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Will Adams, Stanley Bryan, Tom Clemmons, Jeff Butler, Doug Wallace, David Thorne, and Josh Robey.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be directed to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
