Several years ago, Camill Michele Perry decided that she wanted to make a cake for a special sorority event. She never thought that one cake would turn into a cake baking business, but it did. Six years later, she is still making cakes, cake pops, cupcakes and other tasty treats.

Except for taking a short hiatus to have a baby in 2022, Perry has been baking sweet treats to order for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and just about every other special occasion for her customers.

Perry is completely self-taught. She began by using the skills she learned making ice cream cakes at Maggie Moos. Over the years she has used videos on YouTube and Facebook, as well as other social media platforms, to continue to enhance her skills and develop her technique.

“Use your resources to your advantage,” Perry told Chime In, Sis on their Facebook page.

“Cake My Day made my daughter’s fifth birthday cake, as well as my baby shower cake,” said one reviewer. “What I wanted is what she delivered. Both experiences were great — from the customer service to the perfection of the cake. We received so many compliments on both cakes!! Not too sweet, it was just right! She’s officially our cake lady!!! You will not be disappointed!”

Said another reviewer, “I would highly recommend Cake My Day to all my friends for their upcoming celebrations. Not only did my cake look amazing, it also tasted amazing. You will have to remind yourself to not eat it all at once when you get it home.”

Perry’s favorite cake is the Willy Wonka cake she baked for a first birthday party. It is the centerpiece for a table heavy with every kind of candy that children love. The double layer of purple frosted cake dripping in chocolate is cleverly separated by a bowl of gumballs to make it look like a candy dispenser, with lollipops, and gumdrops bursting out of the top.

She shares videos and photos of her work on her Facebook page and Instagram. In several of her videos she shows off her decorating process, as she does in this video. Admitting to having ever evolving favorites as cake toppers and décor, she is currently into using edible gold leaf to create elegant and timeless looks. Fondant allows her to make themed cakes like one with kisses all over it for Valentine’s Day or a football cake for a baby shower.

“I enjoy helping people celebrate special events, and I love seeing their excitement when they see their cake,” Perry told Chime In, Sis.

While living in Wilson County, Perry also bakes cakes for events in Nashville. Orders can be made in Nashville through Cake My Day Nashville Enquiry. Most ordering is done through her Instagram page.
