William Clyde York, Jr., age 80, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday evening, De. 14, 2023 at Vanderbilt-Wilson Hospital in Lebanon.
Born June 25, 1943, he was the son of the late William Clyde York, Sr. and Lassie Mae Allison York and was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Maynard.
He was a member of the Tennessee Nation Guard where he served as Chaplin and had a 52 year career in the ministry, currently serving as Pastor of the Riddleton Baptist Church in Smith County.
William is survived by his wife, Doris Fletcher York; children, Randy (Leslie) York, Pam Hall, Michael “Mickey” York, Terry (April) York and Kerry York; grandchildren, Heather York, Embree York, Billie Jo Kraft, Macy York, Hudson York and Caleb Hinson; great-grandchildren, Abby, Addy and Kingston; sister, Judy (Don) Bunasky and stepbrother, James York; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Donny Payne officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. till service time on Monday. Pallbearers; Embree York, Michael Kraft, Hunter Nix, Jake Lyons, Steven Nesbitt, Bobby Simpson. Interment will be at Hunter Memorial Park. https://www.hunterfuneral.com
