William ‘Bill’ Sharpe, age 77, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Bill loved his family and his country. After serving during the Vietnam War, he went on to serve 23 years in the Army National Guard while working as an NES Lineman Superintendent. Bill finally retired from NES after 40 years. Bill loved to cook, sing and play guitar, but his greatest joy was vacationing at the beach with his loved ones.
Bill was preceded in death by parents, William & Charlotte Sharpe; son, Clint Sharpe; and sister, Ann Greene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Sharpe; daughter, Amy (Ray) Sharpe Martin; sisters, Elizabeth (Wayne) Bates, Darlene (Paul) Bates and Gail Smith; special sister-in-law, Mary Cleghorn; grandson, Cade (Morgan) Sharpe; great-granddaughters, Remi and Reese Sharpe; loyal fur baby, Bella Louise Sharpe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 31st at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt Juliet with Pastor Barry Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt Juliet Memorial Gardens with Ray Martin, Damien Cleghorn, Jaylin Bowman, Austin Ellis, Avery Vaughn and Mike Davis serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, January 31st from 10 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in Bill’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project. He loved and proudly served his country.
