Marie Kemp Pruitt, age 75 of Lebanon passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ester and Osa Kemp; husband, Robert F. Steakley; sisters, Thelma Kemp and Shirley (Charles) Carr; brother, Roger Kemp; brother-in-law, James Collier; niece, Angela Barker; nephews, Joey Kemp, Dwight Collier, and Timmy Collier; and granddaughter, Makenzie Rollins.
Survived by children, Mark (Rhonda) Hackett and Marli (Rudy) Garcia; sister, Ramona Collier; sister-in-law, Kay Kemp; grandchildren, Kelsey (Graham) Salisbury, Kaleb Hackett, Paige Justice, Olivia Rollins, Brandon (Ashton) Garcia, Austin Garcia, Melanie Comstock; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Chloe, Dawson, Harlen, Kyler, Tatum, Alden, Cole, Everly, Finn, Trevor, Teegan, Parker, and Luke; special friend, Virginia Wiser and best fur friend, Fen.
She worked for Toshiba for 30 years until her retirement in 2012. She was a member of Grace Life Baptist Church, previously Southside Baptist Church. She loved teaching Bible study, the Word, and The Lord.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Grace Life Baptist Church, 1000 North Cumberland St., Lebanon. The funeral service was on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior to the service all taking place at the church. Bro. Jeremy Vanatta will officiate and interment will follow at Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens, 551 Defeated Creek Hwy, Carthage.
Michael Collier, Jeff Carr, Cecil Pitts, Michael Lalonde, Steven Kemp and William Harris will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Grace Life Baptist Church in memory of Marie.
