Margaret Carol Gross “Peggy”, age 73 of Watertown, TN went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Quality Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Lebanon, TN.

She was born October 8, 1950 in Nashville, TN to Samuel & Leona Wilson Carver.

She worked for Carver Plumbing for several years but was mostly a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. She was a member of White Hill Community Church in Millersville, where she enjoyed worshipping and serving. She loved cooking for church dinners and visiting shut-ins and the sick. She also loved family gatherings, reading romance novels, playing bingo and canasta and crocheting.

She was a foster parent to over 70 children. She loved children and animals and always took in every stray to love and care for them. She was known for always giving honest answers when asked anything. So, if you didn’t want the truth don’t ask her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug Gross; brother, Sammy Carver; sister, La-Verne Carver Nash.

She is survived by her sons, Jason (Michelle) Gross, Watertown, TN and Jeromy (Brandi Sharber) Gross, White House, TN; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Carver, Inglewood, TN and Ray Carver, Donelson, TN; sisters-in-law, Towana Scott, Portland, TN, Marie Carver and Carol Carver; 3 grandchildren, Savannah Gross and Andrew Gross, both of Watertown, TN and Christian Gross, Portland, TN.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024 at 12 noon in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Ed Tinnin officiating. Interment will follow in White Hill Community Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Thursday, September 19, 2024 4-8 pm and Friday, September 20, 2024 10 am-12 pm at the funeral home.
