In Loving Memory of Kenneth A. Daniels

Kenneth A. Daniels, affectionately known as Kenny or Ken, was born on March 7, 1949, in Washington, D.C., and was called to his eternal home on March 24, 2025, in Nashville, TN. He was the beloved son of the late Otis and Ailene Daniels. Kenny was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 53 years, Benita, and his children, Munirah (Don) and Khalid (Tonya); and his cherished grandchildren, Maya, Caleb, Emerson, Alexandria, and Knox. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Hashim. He also leaves behind his brothers, Rasafik and Henry, his sister, Karen, a host of nieces and nephews, along with close relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

For thirty-nine years, Kenny was a dedicated professor at Tennessee State University and an adjunct professor at Gupton Mortuary College, where he found great fulfillment in shaping the lives of young adults. He took pride in his work, mentoring and inspiring countless students with his wisdom and encouragement.

Outside of his career, Kenny found joy in listening to jazz, playing the piano, watching movies, and appreciating art. He was a devoted husband and father, taking immense pride in providing for his family and ensuring their happiness.

Those who knew Kenny will remember him for his warm smile, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He had a quiet and positive disposition, and those around him always found him to be thoughtful and kind. His presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Although Kenny’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward his legacy of love, compassion, and kindness in all that we do.

Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
