Construction is officially underway on a new Waffle House location in Mt. Juliet, bringing the chain’s famous 24-hour breakfast and late-night comfort food to another growing area of the city.
The new restaurant is being built at 12085 Lebanon Road on the site of a former car wash, which has been cleared to make way for construction.
While an official opening date has not been announced, WH officials say the restaurant could welcome its first customers as early as September.
There has also been speculation that the new location could feature two stories. According to Mt. Juliet’s Director of Economic & Community Development Jennifer Hamblen, the site has been elevated by approximately five feet to meet floodplain requirements and help protect the property from future flooding.
Additional details about the final design and opening timeline have not yet been officially released.
