February 2, 2024 – On Thursday, a traffic stop of a motorist for speeding 65 in a 40MPH speed zone along Lebanon Rd near Sunset Cir led to the discovery of 2 fugitives who were wanted on nationwide extradition warrants for armed robbery and theft.

Once the car was stopped, the driver immediately opened the door, placed his arms up, and made statements about rushing to a hospital because someone was shot in the car. Lebanon Road was briefly closed while officers investigated the incident and summoned EMS.

The investigation revealed the front passenger was treated for gunshot wounds in Memphis back in December. This individual provided false identification, and after officers discovered his true identity, the 29-year-old male from Memphis was found wanted out of Memphis for Felony Theft. He was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Another passenger, a 20-year-old male from Jackson, was found to be wanted out Georgia for Armed Robbery. The driver was charged for speeding, driving on a suspended DL, and possession of marijuana.
