Vladimiro Carminati, born December 29, 1956 in Rome, Italy and passed on August 19, 2024 from multiple organ failure in Lebanon, Tennessee, USA. His children by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio Carminati and Rossana Martinelli, and is survived by his brothers, Vittorio Carminati and Flavio Carminati and their families; his children, Michael Carminati & Rachele Carminati Truso and their families; grandchildren, Nigel, Coco, Darwin, and Violetta. Also many uncles, aunts, cousins, his second wife Gwendolyn Storey and her family.

Vladimiro, also known as Miro, grew up in Ostia Lido, Roma. He attended school to the required age and then became an apprentice for auto body repair until addiction to drugs and alcohol nearly took his life when he was 22. He had a supernatural encounter with God while in a coma and when he awoke, friends helped him connect with L’Arca Teen Challenge rehabilitation program, and he began his new life in God. Miro received God’s love and deliverance from drugs and alcohol with the help of the leaders, and made life-long friends with them & others recovering as he was. He also discovered he had a natural talent for singing and playing guitar which became his life long passion. He wrote many songs about God…His love, salvation and scriptures. He sang at concerts, churches, weddings, restaurants, and anywhere he found an opportunity.

At L’Arca, Miro also met Catherine (Cathy) Vinci, an Italo-American missionary with Gospel Outreach (GO). The GO team helped out at L’Arca for 9 months until settling and founding Cantico Nuovo Comunita’ Cristiana in Florence, Italy. One of the programs they started was to help the graduates of Teen Challenge have a safe place to go, grow and re-enter society. After his time at L’Arca in Acqui Terme, Miro joined Cantico Nuovo in Firenze and learned leather repair through GO. It became his profession for the remainder of his life.

Miro and Cathy (Caterina) became the worship leaders at Cantico Nuovo in Florence. They married in 1983 and started their little family when Michael was born in 1985 and Rachele in 1986.
In 1988, they moved to California, and with the help of Cathy’s family and hard work, they bought a home and started successful leather repair mobile service. A few years later, they sold their business and moved to Tennessee, where their life-long friends Pino and Sarah, (with Sally and Shelley) Squillace had moved after following them to California.

Miro and Catherine divorced in 2000, and he married Gwendolyn Storey soon after.

Miro continued doing leather repair as a business and singing whenever possible. He discovered he liked cats and dogs later in his life, and in recent years he has loved and raised Jack Russell Terriers as a hobby.
His love for God, his family, friends, music and dogs gave him solace through his struggle with addiction.

Michael, Rachele and Sally will be hosting a private memorial family gathering Sunday, September 1, 2024. If you would like to attend, please contact them.
