Virginia Ann Swindoll, a generous and beautiful soul, passed away on May 21, 2025, at age 87. She was a woman of deep faith and compassion, always offering love and support to those around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life mirrored her legacy of faith and selflessness.
Virginia enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as reading, gardening, sewing, and creating a warm and inviting home for her family and for anyone in need of a place to live. Alongside her beloved husband Lamar, they welcomed and raised six of her younger siblings before having three children of their own. They joined Mt. Juliet First Baptist in the late 70’s. There she taught 2nd grade girls for many years. After retiring from Safeco Insurance where she had a long career, she and Lamar enjoyed traveling and square dancing with their dearest and closest friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Dorothy Miller Fulmar; her husband Lamar Swindoll; her brothers Ray Miller, Gene Miller, Kenny Fulmar, Charlie Fulmar, and Robert Fulmar; sisters Roxy Fulgham and Lynn Pearson.
She is survived by her children; Phillip (Dianne) Swindoll, David Swindoll, and Carla Conte; grandsons, Logan, Matthew, and Brennan Swindoll; granddaughter, McClayne Elliott; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Dru Burgess and Margaret Henson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Virginia cared deeply for her family, her friends, her community, and her Lord and Savior. She was loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
