Susanne Kay Nester Heron, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Lebanon, Tennessee. Burial will take place at a later date at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Susanne was born in Woodstock, Illinois, to Clara Catherine Kennebeck Nester and Ervin August Nester. From an early age, she was deeply curious about the world and how things worked. She was an avid reader, enjoyed solving puzzles, and loved taking things apart and putting them back together.
Susanne had a strong faith and was devoted to Bible study. She also had a lifelong passion for horseback riding, playing the organ, and singing in the choir. She was a longtime member of St. Frances Cabrini in Lebanon TN, and St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, IL.
Professionally, Susanne had a successful career as a Fleet Sales Manager for General Motors, where she was known for her dedication and leadership.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn (Greg) Johnson; grandchildren Dean (Megan) Johnson, Cheyanne Johnson, and Sierra Johnson; and great-grandchildren Milah Crago, Emerson Johnson, and Jonah Johnson. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Adams and nephew Tyler McClane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Ervin Nester, and her nephew, Adam McClane.
