Shirley Wilkinson, age 89, of Mt Juliet, passed away on March 2, 2025. The Graveside Service, conducted by Brother Russ Stephens, is 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery in White House TN. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Shirley Hall Wilkinson was born in Mt. Juliet TN to Mary Lou Williams Hall and Marion Dallas Hall, one of twelve children. She married Robert Reece Wilkinson and together they had a fulfilling family life with their two daughters. Shirley enjoyed baking, growing flowers in her garden, and reading, preferably the Bible. She loved her children but her greatest joy was time spent with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Silver Springs Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, but prior to 2018, she belonged to First Baptist Church Goodlettsville where she was active with the prison ministry, even serving as prison Chaplain. She loved singing in their senior choir too. She was also very involved with Meals on Wheels.
Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her daughters: Jan (Michael) Nathanson and Jenny (Kevin) Etheridge; grandchildren: Jason (Kendra) Byrum and Erin (Chandler) Clark; great-grandchildren: Holland Byrum and Haven Clark; and siblings: Margaret Faulks, David (Lynda Lee) Hall, Linda (Tom) Blizzard, and Jane (Wayne) Wall. She is preceded in death by her best friend and husband of nearly 65 years, Robert Wilkinson, parents Mary and Dallas Hall, and siblings Dallas Hall Jr., Billy Hall, Dorothy Steele, Betty Webster, Peggy Williams, Martha Whitman, and Sandra Hall.
