Patricia Ann "Pat" Choate Obit

Patricia Ann Choate, born in 1942 in Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away at home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee surrounded by her loving family. Known affectionately as “Pat,” she was a 1960 graduate of Central High School in Nashville, where she earned the nickname “Hot Rod” for her love of cars and spirited personality. Not long after graduating, she met the love of her life, John Arthur Choate, and the two shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, John Arthur Choate; daughters, Karen (Trey) Ackerman and Susan (Dyron) Flynn; her cherished grandchildren, Erin Ackerman, Will (Kelli) Ackerman, Drew (Jessica) Petty, and John Petty; and her adored great-grandchildren, Willow Rose Ackerman, Delilah Rae Ackerman, and soon-to-be arrival, Rosalee Blair Petty. Patricia will also be missed by her furry companions, Gibson and Ford, who brought her endless joy.

Pat enjoyed a long and successful career in accounting, retiring after 35 years of dedicated work. Her final role was with Gibson Guitar, where she had the unique pleasure of meeting many music legends—from Travis Tritt to KISS and Guns N’ Roses.

In retirement, Pat embraced her creative side and became an avid painter. She and John spent the last 21 years splitting their time between Mount Juliet and Florida, cherishing each season together. Pat was known for her warmth, energy, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Always active and generous with her time, she was the first to lend a hand and the last to leave a gathering.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff of Tennessee Oncology, the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, and Alive Hospice, whose care and support meant so much.

A funeral service honoring Patricia’s life will be held at 12 PM on Monday, April 7th at Bond Memorial Chapel, officiated by Victoria Steelman. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, with escort generously provided by the Mount Juliet Police Department. Visitation will take place on Monday from 10 AM until the time of service. Patricia will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
