Lawanda Victory Davis, age 80, of Mt. Juliet, TN went to her Heavenly home on March 21, 2024.

Lawanda was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend who was very artistic and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was an active member in the Church of Christ, where over the years she taught many classes and groups.

She retired from Summit Hospital in 2015 after 38 years of service. She served for many years on the board of the Tennessee State Society for Medical Technology, serving as President, editor, and as a board member.

Throughout her career, she received numerous awards and recognitions. She was given “The Frist Humanitarian Award” in 2014. She also received the “Distinguished Achievement Award for the Profession of Medical Technology”, the “Dr. Frist Recognition for Commitment to Excellence Award”, “The Silver Lens Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Tennessee State Society for Medical Technology”, and the “Exceptional Merit Award in the Profession of Medical Technology”.

She was also an animal lover who authored a book entitled, “When Pigs Fly Into Your Heart”. Lawanda touched many lives throughout her life, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cecil Davis, Jr., parents, Wesley and Mabel Victory, and brother, Wesley “Buddy” Victory.

She is survived by:
Son – Gary (Rebekah) Davis
Daughters – Valerie (Jay) Brasel
Grandchildren – Beau Brasel and Kylie Brasel
Sisters-in-law – Cecilia Meador and Dru Victory

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Wayne Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00– 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24th and from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jay Brasel, Beau Brasel, Mike Spangenberg, Tim Spangenberg, Wess Victory and Cal Victory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 109 Church of Christ, 3320 Hwy 109 N. Lebanon, TN 37090.
