George Lee Thomas III, age 80 of Mt. Juliet, TN passed away on March 22, 2024.
George was born in Burlington, North Carolina to the late George and Isabel Thomas.
He was a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy, Class of 1961. He was employed at DuPont for 15 years before opening his own real estate company, George Thomas Realty in 1982. He was a member and Past President of the Eastern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors and a member of the National Association of Realtors. He was on the Wilson Bank and Trust advisory board for many years. He was a member of Christ Church in Nashville.
George loved 1960’s Doo-wop music and also enjoyed playing Bingo and was always the Bingo caller at family holiday gatherings. George had a deep love of baseball and softball, and never missed his grandchildren’s games, home or away, and no matter how far of a distance he had to travel to see them. He coached in the Mt. Juliet Little League for over 35 years, and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his son, George Lee Thomas IV.

Daughters – Jeannie Thomas and Wendy (Stant) Eakes
Grandchildren – Adam Thomas, Joe Thomas, Dillon Eakes, and Katie Eakes
Sister – Becky Thomas
His 2 beloved cats – Blackie and Whitie
His dog – Lester
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Chuck Groover officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26th and 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Agee, Doug Gold, Cody Moore, Charles “Popcorn” Thompson, David Haliburton, and Lary Hammann. Honorary Pallbearers will be board members of Wilson Bank and Trust, alumni of Castle Heights Military Academy, and Todd Bennett.
