Kenneth Wyatt Carney, born on October 1, 1958 went home to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his father Carlton Carney and his mother Avasia (Woodard) Carney. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shannon Carney; his four children Racheal (Bradley) Goodman, Lucas (Becca) Daugherty, Emily (Chris) Ward, and Gibson Carney, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Beau, Coleson, Willow, and Dailey. He is also survived by a brother, David (Teresa) Carney, their son Chris (Christen) Carney, and a sister, Carla (Bill) McCord.
Kenneth was a devoted husband, dad, and papa, and once he met you, a friend for all seasons. He worked as a journeyman carpenter, plumber, and handyman, and spent his life in the service of others. He lived out the command to love God and love others in all that he did. His quiet spirit and genuine desire to help others leaves an enduring legacy for his family and all who knew him.
A celebration of life to remember and honor Kenneth will be held on Saturday, July 25th at Cedars of Lebanon Assembly Hall with family gathering from 1:00-2:00 pm and all others from 2:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a trade school scholarship, Good Neighbor Scholarship Fund is being established to honor his legacy and continue the mission of his business. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 19:19.
