It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Eugene Flynn, a beloved father, and friend to many. Jerry passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2024, at the age of 80.
Born in Springfield, Tennessee to Risteen and Ruby May Flynn, Jerry showed exceptional qualities from a young age. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Risteen and Ruby May Flynn; son Michael Flynn; brothers Wayne Flynn and Billy Dean Flynn.
He is survived by his companion of 31 years, Joyce; his siblings Edward Flynn and Mary Flynn; his children, Rhonda Flynn, Randy (Valerie) Flynn, Matthew (Kathryn)Flynn, and Amanda Flynn; his grandchildren Racheal Flynn, Brandon Flynn (Michelle), Aaron Hudson, Randall Flynn, Brittany Flynn, Joshua Flynn, Hayden Flynn, Audrey Flynn, Tanner Flynn, Taylor Miller (Evan), and Gracelynn Flynn. He is also survived by an additional 8 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a man who embraced life with a passion for the outdoors. He found solace and joy in every aspect of nature and shared his love for the outdoors with everyone he met. He was especially proud of his garden! Not to mention his love for fishing. In addition to his love for the outdoors, summer barbecues were also a highlight for Jerry, as he cherished the opportunity to gather with friends and family. Jerry’s favorite pastimes also included working on his or his neighbors lawn mowers, or watching dirt track racing!
Above all, Jerry’s greatest love was his family. He was a devoted father, and grandfather, and his love and support knew no bounds. His family was always his top priority, and he leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
Jerry Eugene Flynn will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His zest for life, generous spirit, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Funeral Services to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 21, with visitation from 10 a.m to 2p.m with a funeral service to follow starting at 2 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee at 2229 N Mount Juliet Road, 37122. https://www.sellarsfh.com
