Dorothy Heald Montgomery, 87, was born on Monday, August 15th, 1938, in West Grove, Pennsylvania, to the late Howard Marshall and Helen Moore Heald, and was received Home with great joy by our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 8th, 2026.
The Funeral Service, conducted by Pastor Andrew Coleman, will be held in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet on Friday, June 12th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Matthew Mead, Timothy Mead, Andrew Grossholz, Darrold Mcallister, Heather Johnson, Gavin Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Billy W. Montgomery; daughter, Helen Mead; and sister, Louise Price. She is survived by children, Cynthia (Rollin) Grossholz, David H. Montgomery, and Rebecca (Monte) Eaton; son-in-law, Bradley Mead; brother, William (Judith) Heald; grandchildren, Andrew (Christina) Grossholz, Heather Johnson, Sonja Grossholz, Timothy (Amanda) Mead, Matthew (Ashley) Mead, and Rebecca (Darrold) Mcallister; 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family members also survive.
Mrs. Montgomery was a respected and cherished wife, mother, and friend to countless people. She had many talents and hobbies ranging from making her world-famous cinnamon rolls, gifting her homemade bread at Christmas time, teaching Sunday School, and tending to her African Violets in her yard. Her biggest passion of all was ensuring her family was taken care of. She prayed for and over her family all of her life.
A member of Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, as well as an attendee of other churches in nearby communities, Dorothy lived every day of her life looking forward to the promise of Heaven. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, the love she had for Hershey’s Chocolate, and her faith in Jesus Christ.
