Don Williams Obit

Don Williams, age 64, of Lebanon, passed away on February 19, 2025.

The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Brian Varnell and Brother Rucker Chunn, is 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Fairview Cemetery will follow the service. Friends and family will serve as Pallbearers.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service.

Donald Ewing Williams was born on May 7, 1960 in Lebanon TN to Robbye Barney Bond Williams and John Ewing Williams. He was baptized on August 18, 1974 by Pastor Ronnie Smith. He was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church most of his life and joined Mt. Juliet Church of God in 2023.

Don received the highest degree obtainable in high school and The American Farmer Degree in Kansas City MO. He loved hunting and fishing, four wheeling, Texas 2 stepping and country music, gardening, The Dallas Cowboys, and the Tennessee Vols. He had written and attained copyrights on nearly 20 of his gospel songs.

Don farmed with his parents until 1998 when they turned the livestock and equipment over to him. He loved farming. He worked Black Angus cattle and hogs, and cut hay. He farmed part-time until 2019 when lung fibrosis and myopathy slowed him down. Don’s interests became collecting trading cards, coins, old currency, knives, and vinyl records.

Don is survived by his “Sweets” and wife of 10 years, Tonya McGhee Williams; children: Travis (Brandye) Thomas, Blake (Jaime) Williams, Samantha Sophronia (J.R.) Spain, Donna Lee (Kyle) Garbe, Stephanie (Kevin) Bevil, and Joshua Perry; grandchildren: Zoey, Taylor (Jeremy), Jordan (Jennelle), Maghan, Ethan (Natalie), Lyla, Jackson, Lucas, Bella, Eliana, Lucy, Olive, Judith, Levi, Eve, Ivan, Aubrey, and Aleck; great-grandchildren: Evie, Oliver, and Violet; and siblings Robert Andy Williams and Renee Williams Mathis.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robbye and John Williams, and siblings Kaye Ellen Williams Garrett and Gayle Ann Williams Jacobs.
