The Lebanon City Council unanimously approved the funding for the Beautification Project Design Phase on the second reading on Tuesday, February 18th.
“As I begin my second term, I want to improve the aesthetics of our community. As we continue to improve standards for private development, it is imperative that we also enhance the look of our public spaces,” Mayor Rick Bell said.
This beautification project will help Lebanon’s overall identity, characteristics, and branding. Making this initial investment in key areas will improve aesthetics, lead to further improvements and increase economic and community development.
The proposed project will include:
• Renovation of the Lebanon Square Park Northwest Quadrant
• Gate Sign and Landscaping at two strategic I-40 Interchanges, including S. Hartmann Drive & US 231 (I-40 Exits 236 and 238)
• Traffic Signal Cabinet Wraps with historical photographs
• Historical District Street Signs
• Street Name Sign Design Standardization
The renovations of the Northwest Quadrant include a usable park area that highlights the history and character of the Town Square and can be used for various public events throughout the year.
