Our beloved Dennis Jenny, age 77, of Lebanon TN, passed away on December 10, 2025 after a long battle with stage four lung cancer. The Graveside Service with military honors and inurnment will be at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram TN, scheduled for January 2026, with a mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon, TN and a wake at Sellars Funeral Home, also in Lebanon, to be scheduled.

Dennis Edward Jenny was the first of six children and was born in Paterson, New Jersey, to Dorothy Geraldine VanDaalen Jenny and Peter Jenny. He grew up in Ridgewood NJ and graduated from high school in Bedford Village NY. He attended the University of Massachusetts before serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, 1968-1972. Upon his return to civilian life, Mr. Jenny worked until retirement at Indian Point Nuclear Plant in Westchester County NY as a Quality Control Engineer. He met the love of his life, Joan, in 2005. They lived in Monroe and Walden, NY, and moved to Lebanon, TN to join family.

Dennis was a true Renaissance Man; he had a very high IQ and was well-rounded in his interests. Dennis had an observant and uncanny eye in all that he did, whether it was sensing the presence of a deer in the woods or deciphering the artistic beauty and value of a wood carved decoy. He was an outdoorsman with an appreciation of nature and an enthusiasm for hunting deer and duck, as well as flyfishing in the Neversink River, in the Catskill Mountains of NY. Knives, guns, and decoys were his favored collectibles. Dennis was also an aficionado of classical music and opera.

Dennis is survived by his companion of 20 years total, wife of nearly 11 years, Joan Scerbo, daughter Stephanie Gioielli and stepdaughters Cristina Pineda and Alessandra Conti, grandchildren Gabriella, Dominic, Austin, Alessio, and Alexander, siblings Peter Jenny, Robert “Bob” Jenny, Jean Robbins, and Joan Barrett and her husband Patrick Sr., and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerry and Peter Jenny and brother Tom Jenny.
