Billie Annette Louis Guzman, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Juliet, TN, on February 6, 2025. Born on November 15, 1938, in Sylvania, GA, she was the eldest of five sisters and graduated as a Salutatorian from Savannah Christian High School, an all-girls school in Savannah, GA.
A true Southern lady at heart, she had a knack for shopping, loved cooking large meals for family gatherings, and spent every summer planting beautiful flowers in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Louis Turlington of Bluffton, SC, her father, William Albert Louis of Paterson, NJ, her sister Shirley Katherine Louis Beach of Walterboro, SC, her baby sister Katherine Elizabeth Louis of Paterson, NJ, and her half-sister Lavern Jacobs of Collins, GA.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Frank Guzman of Mt. Juliet, TN. Together, they raised five wonderful children and were blessed with sixteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a devoted mother, Billie stayed home to ensure her children were well cared for, fed, and driven to their various activities. She supported Ricky in football, Bill in track, Alecia and Stephanie in softball, and Sharon as a flag girl in the marching band. She celebrated Alecia’s achievement as 1st runner-up for the Wilson County Fair Princess title and Stephanie’s success in winning the title a few years later.
Known for her southern cooking, her chicken pot pies, potato salad, and breaded chicken became family staples that will never be forgotten. Billie was the matriarch who held her family together through life’s challenges, providing unwavering love and strength. Her immense dedication to her children and grandchildren leaves a legacy of love and resilience that will never fade.
Billie’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 11th at Smith Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Murfreesboro, TN from 1 to 3 p.m. where friends and family gather to share their memories of Billie and the legacy she left behind.
