Betty Denning age 93, of Lebanon passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 in The Gardens of Mt. Juliet, in Mt. Juliet, TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents. William Joseph & Margaret Rodes Lynes; & her husband, Thomas E. Denning Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Randall) Cunningham of Mt. Juliet; son, Mark (Amanda) Denning of Lebanon; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Payne, Phillip Mason Jr., Sean Fitzpatrick, & Andrew Denning; 12 great-grandchildren, Nathan (Savannah) Payne, Emma Payne, Savannah Connell, Lauren Connell, Taylor (Ryan) Dunn, Bethany Mason, Katie Mason, Cassidy Mason, Casey Mason, Callie Mason, Zackary Mason & Aiden Fitzpatrick; great-great-grandchildren, Hudson, Parker & Asher.
Betty was born in Pontiac, Michigan, and was a 1949 graduate of Isaac Litton High School in Inglewood, TN.
She was a long time member of College Hills Church of Christ where she served in various ministries. She volunteered with Hearthside Senior Living, and would lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need.
Her hobbies included knitting, reading, traveling, her afternoon soap opera “Days of Our Lives”, watching football, Lady Vols Basketball, tending to her flowers and mowing her yard. Her family believed she made the best Potato Salad, Thanksgiving Dressing and Lemon Meringue Pie.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16th, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the Partee House, 233 West Main Street, Lebanon, TN 37087. Visitation Tuesday, October 17th, from 9:30 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the College Hills Church of Christ, 1401 Leeville Pike, Lebanon, TN 37090. Johnny Markham will officiate the service. Active pallbearers will be family & friends. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Hendersonville Memorial Gardens, 353 Johnny Cash Parkway, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Hearthside Senior Living, 215 North Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon, TN 37087.
