The City of Mt. Juliet has been awarded $12 million in federal transportation funding to move forward with the next phase of the Lebanon Road Widening Project.
The funding, announced by the Greater Nashville Regional Council and the Transportation Policy Board, will pay for right-of-way acquisition needed to widen Lebanon Road between Park Glen Drive and Curd Road.
The project will expand that section of Lebanon Road to five lanes before transitioning to three lanes at Curd Road, connecting with the roadway improvements recently completed by TDOT near West Elementary School.
City leaders expect an additional $24 million in federal construction funding once the right-of-way phase is complete. The grants cover 80% of eligible project costs, with the city responsible for the remaining 20%.
With the funding secured, Mt. Juliet plans to resume engineering work, finalize project plans, and begin the right-of-way acquisition process.
City leaders said the project is designed to improve traffic flow, increase safety, and support the city’s continued growth.
