From the desk of Chief Mike Justice:

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Travis Rourke to B-Detail Corporal.

Travis was originally born in Dayton, Ohio but has lived in Tennessee since he was a child. He is a 1996 graduate of Beech High School in Hendersonville, TN.

After High School Travis joined the United States Air Force where he served for nearly ten years. During his time in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant. In 2005 Travis earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana.

He started his career in criminal justice as a Deputy with the Missoula County Montana Sheriff’s Office where he served from 2014-2015. He later returned to Tennessee where he briefly served with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as a Correction’s Officer. He began service with the Lebanon Police Department in 2016 and graduated from the Police Academy that same year. He has served as a Police Officer, Master Police Officer, and Field Training Officer during his time with our department. He has also served as a member of the crime scene team and currently serves on the SWAT team.

Additionally, he currently serves as a defensive tactics instructor. For years Travis has had a passion in his personal life for martial arts which led him to earn a black belt in Brazilian Jujitsu in 2019. It’s worthy of mentioning that he is currently the only law enforcement officer in Wilson County that has rose to that level in Brazilian Jujitsu.

In 2022 Travis received an award for his performance during the pursuit and apprehension of a murder suspect in April and later in December he also received the Officer of the Year award.

We are confident that he will be successful in his new position and look forward to him working with our members to help lead our agency. More Crime News!
