1. Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair

The Wilson County Fair opened Thursday, August 12, with a grand ceremony. This year’s theme is “Honoring Hometown Heroes.”  Click here to purchase your tickets, view event schedule and fair hours. The Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair will run from through Saturday, August 21. During this time, a multitude of events, shows and concerts will take place. 2. Breeden’s Orchard

While the picking season may be over, Breeden’s Orchard is not slowing down with its events just yet. The orchard, which sits on 11.5 acres of land, will be grilling out for the public this weekend. They will be serving up Highland Beef Burgers and Vienna Beef hot dogs. Cold drinks will also be served as you walk around the orchard or sit and enjoy the view.

3. Music Showcase & Open Mic

This musical showcase will present bands from Artist for a Better World, an organization that dedicates its efforts to changing the world through art. They strive to create positive change through social projects and events such as this one. These local artists just want you to come out, enjoy some music and have a good time.

4. Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling

Enjoy this fun and comedic production by Playhouse 615! This theatre is operated by two Tennessee natives who have over 60 years of experience as touring actors. Their production of Steel Magnolias will follow six women in Louisiana who embrace life’s obstacle courses together. The theater only seats 50 people, so make sure to purchase your tickets in advance.

5. Stardust Drive-In Theatre

Catch a movie at Stardust, which is now open weekends only. This weekend, the theater will be featuring: The Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt, Free Guy, starring Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer, The Suicide Squad, starring Margot Robbie and Idris Elba, and The Green Knight starring Dev Patel and Alicia Vikander. Tickets can be purchased at the box office which opens at 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturdays and 7:00 pm on Sunday nights.
