12023 Tennessee State/Wilson County Fair

August 17-26, 2023

Are you ready for some great family fun? The 2023 Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair takes place August 17-26! Its theme is “95 Reasons to Celebrate Tennessee: All Rows Lead to Tennessee.” The “rows” coming from this year’s agriculture focus being “The Year of Corn.” With a spotlight on all 95 counties, the Travel Tennessee Exhibit showcases what makes each one unique. There will be livestock shows, motorsports events, music on 15 stages, all kinds of exhibits, Fiddlers Grove Historic Village where you can step back in time and see demonstrations of years past, over 60 carnival rides for children and adults, and all kinds of entertainment located all over the Fair. Some fun new competitions open to the general public include the “Mom Calling Contest” and the “Husband Calling Contest” to take place on August 19.

2Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop

Saturday, August 19, 2023, 2 PM
Hammer & Stain Mount Juliet

On Saturday, August 19th, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, go to Hammer & Stain-Mount Juliet to make a hand-knitted cozy blanket! These are so soft and cozy and perfect for chilly, lazy days! The blanket will measure approximately 40”x 60”. You will pick your yarn colors at the workshop. Seats are limited, so reserve your spot today! Registration for this workshop will close on August 17, 2023 at 11:59pm or when all seats have been filled.

*Limited Seating- only the person with a registered seat will be allowed in the studio.
As always, you are welcome to bring a snack and your choice of beverage to sip on!
Colors are first come first serve. Feel free to stop by the studio ahead of time to pre-select your yarn colors.

3Extraordinary Dads Meet-up

CP Between the Lakes

This event is hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee. The groups two largest meet-ups are in coordination with their new and expecting parent baby shower to welcome new and expecting fathers and grandfathers.

All dads and grandfathers are welcome to attend, but event organizers especially invite all new & expecting dads & grandfathers of individuals with Down Syndrome to this meeting to welcome them and celebrate their new babies.

4WCDART Dog Wash Fundraiser

Saturday, August 19, 2023, 10 AM – 2 PM

The Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team will be at Tractor Supply in Lebanon this Saturday from 10-2 for a Dog Wash Fundraiser. Bring your four-legged friend for a dog wash for $10 and a nail trim for $10. No appointments are needed. All proceeds benefit the Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team!

5Stampede Days

As the current reigning champions after the first season of Professional Bull Riding (PRB) Team Competition in 2022, the Nashville Stampede is working to defend their title. The Nashville Stampede will hold their second-annual homestand this weekend. During their event, they will play the Missouri Thunder (Aug. 18), Kansas City Outlaws (Aug. 19) and Arizona Ridge Riders (Aug. 20). The action begins at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, and 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 20.
