Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Accepting Applications for Explorer Program

Sheriff’s Department is currently taking applications for the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program! This is an opportunity for young people between the ages of 13-18 to have the opportunity to learn about a career in law enforcement.

The program, which began in October 2014, includes more than 60 hours of training in criminal law, officer safety and survival, arrest, and search procedures, emergency management, crime prevention, CPR, report writing, crime scene investigation, riding with sworn officers and a host of other skills.

The Explorer Post is open to all Wilson County students, including home school, and must have parental approval while maintaining at least a “C” average in school.

The first meeting will take place on THURSDAY, MARCH 30th, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the training room on the second floor of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
