The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office says they have had another round of complainants to report the jury duty scam is circulating once again, this time going by the name of Lieutenant Bennett.
Be aware of the ability that scammers have through apps to spoof our main line number.
If you receive a call from the sheriff’s office number and the caller asks for personal identifying information and threatens to arrest you if a specified amount of money is not given to them as a result of not reporting to jury duty, then please hang up and do not disseminate any information to them.
Don’t become a victim and please educate those who don’t have access to social media.
