Wilson County Schools will return to school tomorrow (Tuesday, January 4th) and operate on a 2-hour delay.

With staggered starting times across the district, just simply add two hours to your school’s normal start time and that will begin your student(s) day.

The snowfall from last night produced various amounts across Wilson County with the higher amounts located in the southeast part of the county. Those areas with the higher amounts have seen satisfactory thawing among the main and secondary roads throughout the day. However; there will be another evaluation of select roads in the SE portion of the county early tomorrow morning.

PLEASE NOTE: Transportation will not be provided for Special Education Pre-K students on Tuesday. Kids Club will operate on a NORMAL SCHEDULE for Tuesday, 1/4.

Furthermore, as WCS goes back in session following the break, WCS wants to inform you of an added precaution they intend to utilize.

With the recent rise in COVID-19 cases both locally and nationwide, WCS will once again be administering student temperature checks upon arrival to school to start the semester. And as the district navigates through the ongoing pandemic, they will continue to partner and work closely with the Tennessee Department of Health.

There’s no mask/face covering mandate in the district. Masks/face coverings are optional during this time, but they are available free of cost at each school.

WCS is hopeful for a safe semester and reminds parents that if your student(s) is experiencing any symptoms, then please take any necessary precautions.
