Wilson County Schools has selected Amy Wilken as the inaugural principal of Central Pike Elementary, which is scheduled to open for the upcoming school year.

Wilken brings nearly 20 years of experience in education, including more than four years in administration. Most recently, she served as assistant principal for sixth grade at Gladeville Middle School. Prior to moving into administration, she worked as a SEEK teacher at GMS and was recognized as Teacher of the Year during the school’s inaugural 2019–2020 year.

Director of Schools Jeff Luttrell made the announcement this week, noting Wilken’s familiarity with the Central Pike Elementary community and her leadership background. He said she comes from a strong administrative team at Gladeville Middle and expressed confidence in her ability to guide the new school through its opening.

Wilken said she looks forward to building Central Pike Elementary from the ground up and establishing a positive school culture. She shared plans to focus on creating a welcoming environment with high expectations, where students, families, and staff feel connected and supported.

Before joining Wilson County Schools, Wilken served as Dean of Students at Bellevue Middle School. She began her career with Cheatham County Schools, where she also coached several sports.

Central Pike Elementary is expected to open its doors to students in August.
