Wilson County Schools addressed threat rumors against Mt. Juliet High School on April 6, 2023.

The district shared the following statement on their Facebook:

“We want to share some important information with you to help prevent widespread misinformation and dispel any rumors that may have developed. This morning, the Mt. Juliet High School administration was notified that a middle school student had reported a threat against MJHS. Law enforcement was immediately notified. In their investigation, police discovered that the rumored threat was against a school in another district (law enforcement is currently handling that).

After efficient and thorough investigative work, it was determined that there have been no threats against Mt. Juliet High School or any other Wilson County School.

We understand how quickly misinformation can spread, so we’re posting this message to alleviate your concerns in the event you hear about the rumored threat. School safety has, and will always be a top priority within our district. We deeply appreciate everyone involved who investigated this matter.”

According to WKRN, false online threats toward schools have been made in other counties in Middle Tennessee including Bedford, Warren and Montgomery
