What began as a routine weekend parking enforcement stop in Mount Juliet escalated into a major arrest involving drug, gun, and multiple outstanding criminal charges.
Officers with the Mt. Juliet Police Department stopped a vehicle for a handicapped parking violation at the MAPCO on South Mt. Juliet Road. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Murfreesboro, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell and illegally carrying a handgun as a convicted felon while actively committing a felony offense.
The man was also wanted by authorities in Nashville on multiple additional charges, including two counts of possession of controlled substances, meth possession, DUI, and driving on a suspended license, which officers confirmed was still suspended at the time of the stop.
He was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Wilson County Jail.
Police said the arrest reflects their ongoing commitment to proactive enforcement and keeping dangerous offenders off local streets.
