A man was killed in a crash on the interstate in Wilson County on February 27, 2023, WSMV reports.
It happened in the westbound lanes of I-40 near the Mt. Juliet Road exit ramp around 10:15 p.m. on Monday.
Tennessee Highway Patrol stated that an Amazon tractor-trailer was idle on the right shoulder of I-40 West when a Chevrolet Silverado crashed into the back of the trailer.
Authorities say the Silverado then rolled approximately 50 feet away before coming to rest in a grassy area.
The driver of the Silverado, who was identified as 43-year-old Jared Crumby of Nashville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
