Two Face Drug and Weapon Charges After Suspicious Call in Wilson County

Wilson County deputies responded to a suspicious person that was at a residence on McCrary Road that resulted in two individuals going to jail on weapon and drug charges on March 6, 2023.

A deputy was dispatched to the residence around 1:30 a.m. after an unidentified female knocked on the resident’s door with a gas can requesting the homeowner to take her to get gas. Due to the location of the resident’s home in comparison to where the car was stationary, the complainant called the deputy’s office requesting a deputy to investigate suspicious behavior.

While the deputy was in route to the call, he observed a gray Chevy Impala with its hazard lights on partially in the roadway on McCrary Road. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Gary Dale Britt, and stated he was out of gas. Britt then advised that his girlfriend, Sarah Marie Nagy, was walking to the store to purchase some additional gas. As a result of the information received by the deputy through his investigation, a probable cause search was performed on the vehicle due to the statements that were made regarding drugs being present inside the Chevy Impala.

During the search, drugs and weapons were located throughout the vehicle as well as Nagy’s purse. Both Britt and Nagy were taken into custody and transported to the Wilson County Jail while being charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of firearm during commission of a dangerous felony, simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of press time, both still remain in custody.

“This appears to be an isolated incident. There has been no evidence throughout the investigation that this particular area where the crime occurred is being targeted,” stated Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan. “As always, if anyone observes suspicious activity or behavior going on, it’s important to contact your local law enforcement agency.”
