This Halloween, Mt. Juliet police will triple their patrol staff to ensure safety while trick-or-treaters hit the streets.

Tips to keep you and your kids safe:

1. Always accompany young children when trick-or-treating.
2. Stick to well-lit houses and always use sidewalks.
3. Inspect all treats before consuming them.
4. Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing to be easily seen.
5. Don’t wear masks that can obstruct vision; use face paint instead.
6. Practice road safety – look both ways before crossing the street.
7. Stay in familiar neighborhoods and follow a planned route.
8. Keep a safe distance from lit candles and luminaries.

If you notice anything suspicious, you are asked to report it immediately to the police.
