Three Arrested in Attempted Shoplifting in Lebanon

November 26, 2023 – Lebanon Police Department responded to Hibbitt Sports regarding three subjects actively shoplifting on Sunday.

Upon arrival, Officers Miller and Royer were able to make contact with the three suspects in question and they immediately tried to flee, shoving both officers out of the way, knocking one to the ground. One suspect fled into a nearby business and the other two suspects entered their vehicle and tried to drive away.

Officer Miller and Royer were able to apprehend the two subjects that entered the vehicle as the driver was trying to shift the car into drive. Officers Polston, O’Brien, and Johnson were able to locate the third subject in a nearby business. All three suspects had warrants out of Nashville for theft, evading, and robbery.

The preliminary investigations shows the three females were trying to steal nearly $5000 in merchandise from Hibbitt Sports. A search of the vehicle also turned up stolen merchandise from other near by businesses. Charges of shoplifting, criminal attempt, evading arrest, assault on an officer and possession of stolen goods are all pending against the suspects.
