December 18, 2023 – On Friday, Lebanon Police received a call about an abandoned car in Sinking Creek near S. Cumberland St.
An officer was able to locate the car and discovered it had been vandalized. Later in the day, police responded to the Days Inn hotel in reference to a stolen car. It was confirmed that the car located in the creek was the stolen vehicle in question from Days Inn.
Officers were able to review security footage to get a description of the suspect. Later in the evening, police were called to the Quality Inn, in reference to someone matching the suspect description from earlier, pulling on door handles in the parking lot.
The subject matching the description was located and detained.
As the investigation continued, officers confirmed it was the suspect from the earlier Days Inn car theft and discovered the suspect had warrants out of Metro for robbery and was a runaway juvenile from a youth facility in Waverly, TN.
