Retired Chief Randy Trammel has passed away, according to the Lebanon Police Department.
“We are forever grateful for Chief Randy Trammel’s impeccable dedication and service to the city of Lebanon and its citizens. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with the Chief Trammel’s family and friends,” the Lebanon Police Department said.
Chief Trammel started his career with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department in September of 1974 and eventually began working with the Lebanon Police Department in August 1977.
Trammel rose through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain before being appointed Chief of Police in 2001. Thereafter, Trammel proudly served as Chief of police until his retirement on 6/1/2003.
Even after his retirement, Trammel answered the call to duty and returned to the Lebanon Police Department to assist as an evidence technician part-time from 2013-2021.
