Bill Hood, born on June 12th 1958, passed away on November 14th 2024 in Lebanon, TN. He left a legacy marked by years of working as an engineer in various food companies, a generous spirit and love for boating and his lawn. Bill also loved music including bands such as Alabama, Alan Jackson and The Eagles.
Bill graduated from Purdue University and went on to become an engineer. He earned his title as CEO of various manufacturing companies in the food industry. His professional life led him and his wife to move to various parts of the country, which is where they met many lifelong friends. Bill made it a point to keep in touch with past colleagues around the nation.
In his personal life, Bill was an avid boater. He had a keen interest in maintaining his vessels in the most pristine condition. He owned numerous vessels, including a 440 Sea Ray sedan bridge named, “Beats Workin’ VI”. This summer, Bill and his wife celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on their boat at Green Turtle Bay with their children and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife Kim Hood. He is survived by his children Justin (JR) Hood (Elisha Hood), Kristin Hood (fiancé Mike Lindley), Jordin Hood (Angela Hood); grandchildren Myla Hood, Jane Hood, Jay Hood. He is also survived by mother Ellie Hood, sister Linda Rotramel (Bill Rotramel), and brother Robert(Bob) Hood (Vicki Hood). He is preceded in death by his father Archibald Hood.
Per Bill’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. His immediate family will celebrate his legacy with a boat ride in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s honor to The American Cancer Society.
