Pat was a loving husband, caring father, doting grandfather and a beloved leader at Mt. Pat graduated in 1962 from Mt. Juliet High School, where he was salutatorian, and he and his brothers Bob and Ernie played together on the football and basketball teams. He was soon drafted into the Army for two years, and he served part of that time in Vietnam.

After the war, he graduated from Cumberland University and Tennessee Tech University. Then he got his master’s degree in education at Austin Peay University. He spent most of his nearly 40-year career as an educator at Friendship Christian School, where he was a math teacher, football coach and assistant principal before becoming headmaster. After retiring in 2002, he taught for several years at Wilson Central High School.
