Van Marvin Vandygrift age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the home of his daughter in Lebanon.
Born Nov. 26, 1942 in Auburntown, he was the son of the late Robert Seldon Vandygrift and Pauline Campbell Vandygrift and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Stephens Vandygrift in 2022.
Marvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam from 1969-1970 and a long time employee of Robertshaw Lux Time and Fortune Plastics.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Gray (Dywayne Ferrell) and Teresa Maggart-Federico (Mike); grandchildren, Isabella Illobre (Thomas), Ethan, Nicholas and Ella Maggart; great-grandchildren, Jaxton and Skyler Illobre; sister-in-law, Katherine Vandygrift; nieces and nephew, Robert Joe Vandygrift, Leanna Cole, Tony and Greg Vandygrift, Alanna Meyer, Jami Ervin, Christa Campbell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Stephens, Sue and Carter House, James and Debbie Stephens, John Bryant Claiborne.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Eileen Vandygrift, Bill Vandygrift, Larry Vandygrift, Eddie and Glenda Vandygrift; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Claiborne.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Hunter Funeral Home with visitation from 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. till service time Saturday.
